St Johns Kinder
Overview
Fleetwood was contracted to deliver a design and construct solution for St Johns as part of the Diocese of Toowoomba Catholic Schools expansion plan for the region. Six hours west of Brisbane, St John’s Roma is the largest of 31 schools across the Toowoomba Catholic Schools Diocese who have teamed up with Centacare Brisbane to bring this project to fruition. Fleetwood delivered a fully functional modular kinder, which included open learning areas, amenities, ramps, stairs and storage rooms. In addition to the delivery and installation of the facility, Fleetwood also collaborated with the council in assuring all landscaping and outdoor play areas were completed on schedule.
Solution
The delivery of the St Johns Kindergarten (5 modules), a purpose built relocatable kinder designed specifically for preschool was delivered in a day and fully functional within a week prior to the start of term 3. The building has provided an additional 30 places for students in the community.
Benefits
The addition of the modular facility has allowed St Johns to run multiple classes for different age groups of preschool children with the new kindergarten and associated Outside School Hours Care service being very well received by the Roma community. St Johns are now also able to offer families Outside School Hours Care for all primary school students and are now equipped to offer parents world class education from kindergarten right through until Year 12 with the addition of this building.
