Maroondah City Council Administration Building
Overview
Fleetwood was contracted to supply and install a new permanent modular building for the Maroondah City Council based out of the North-Eastern suburbs of Melbourne. The building is used as a general council office at the Maroondah City Council Operations Centre with the full turnkey solution being the first stage of a group of works undertaken for the city council.
Solution
Fleetwood’s role was to deliver a full turnkey solution, which specifically included a new double storey permanent modular building (13 modules). The project required 12 weeks to complete onsite (4 weeks of site works prior to the delivery of the modules along with a further 8 weeks once the modules were installed). Construction and installation of a lift, storm water reticulation system, connection of sewerage to the council mains, update and connection of an existing electrical pillar, construction of a boundary retaining wall along with the installation of screw pile and metal rail system all formed part of the scope of works.
Benefits
The advantages of delivering a modular solution is eminent as shown with the ability to deliver an entire structure and have it operational in just a few months. Upgrading from outdated facilities to a specifically designed office hub was a major benefit for the city council who needed the extra office space as part of their growth strategy.
