Combabula Village
Overview
Fleetwood were engaged by Laing O’Rourke to undertake the construction and delivery of the Combabula Village in Central Queensland. The 550- man village comprised of two stages, a 150-man ‘fly in’ camp and a 350-man permanent village consisting of a range of facilities.
Solution
Fleetwood’s role was to deliver a full turnkey solution, which specifically included a two-phased approach for the Australia Pacific LNG Gas Processing Facilities Accommodation Camp in Queensland. With the project spanning over 3 years, the Village required a range of facilities including:
- Laundries
- Wet and Dry Mess
- Reception
- Commercial Kitchens
- Gym
- 4-person Single Person Quarters (SPQ’s)
- 2-person PWD
- Sports Oval
- Multipurpose Courts and Volleyball area
Benefits
The Australia Pacific LNG Gas Processing Facilities project involved the construction of 6 new gas processing plants, which included the Combabula Village in the heart of Queensland. The project generated considerable flow-on benefits throughout the Queensland economy, creating approximately 6,000 direct jobs during the peak construction phase.
